What can I expect?
A
Seminar with Experts
During the first 30–40
minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video
seminar featuring top
experts on divorce
and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an
interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert
interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.
A Support Group with Focus
After viewing the video,
DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group,
discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar
and what is going on in the lives of group members.
Workbook-Based Personal
Study and Reflection
During the week you will have the opportunity to use your
workbook for further personal study and to
help sort out your emotions through journaling. Your group will
spend time discussing questions and comments from the workbook
study.

A

DivorceCare for Kids is a special group to help
children, ages 5-12, heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce
of their parents. At our weekly DC4K group, kids make friends with other kids who
understand how they feel and the things they are going through because of the divorce
of their parents.
Best of all, children will learn how God’s love can strengthen them and
help turn tears to hope and joy!

What is DC4K?
DC4K is a special group to help your children
heal from the pain caused by a separation or divorce. DC4K provides your children
with a safe and neutral place to recognize and learn to share their feelings.
Your children will get involved in a fun, caring group at a church
near you while you attend the DivorceCare program at the same time. The weekly
session topics help your
children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps
turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.
Each session is filled with activities, games, crafts,
role playing, discussion times, journaling and workbooks all designed to help your children process
the divorce and move forward with their lives. The music CDs, snacks, read aloud
stories, exercises and Bible verses teach your children to relax and rest secure
in God’s love. The Kids Like Me and Stories from the Bible video dramas present
stories of children just like your children, who are experiencing divorce-related
problems and have found help and encouragement.
